大金持ちの奥さんが専業主婦をやっているという例はほとんどない。なぜなら、大金持ちは自分の会社を持っていて、妻を会社の役員にしているケースが大半だからだ。会社役員だから、税制上は専業主婦ではない。実際、わたしは大金持ちを何人も知っているが、少なくとも奥さんが税制上で専業主婦をやっているという話は聞いたことがない。つまり、もとから配偶者控除など受けてはいないのだから、配偶者控除をなくしても痛くもかゆくもないのだ。
